Industrial engineering is a branch of engineering and one of the important disciplines in the field. It is concerned with the science of mechanical design and various manufacturing and production processes as well as all necessary stages such as planning, assembly, testing, analysis, processing and development to have the best value at the lowest cost while taking into consideration the human and economic factors from a perspective that establishes a practical and effective industrial organization.
It covers systems engineering, quality, supply chains, human process engineering, preventive maintenance and safety, facility planning and the work environment. Industrial engineers are interested in designing, operating, and analyzing industrial and service production systems to reduce production costs, increase efficiency, improve the quality of products and services, ensure the health and safety of workers, protect the environment, and comply with government regulations.
To prepare industrial engineering graduates equipped with world-class professional competencies capable of conducting scientific research and rendering community services allowing for a sustainable development.
